Jérôme Garin holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He is the
head of the CEA Research Institute for life Science and Technology (one
of the 8 CEA research institutes in Life Science) and of EDyP, the “Exploring
the Dynamics of Proteomes” laboratory (U880 INSERM/CEA/UJF research unit),
located in Grenoble, France. Jérôme Garin is the co-inventor
of the patented PSAQ™ method.
He is a member of the editorial board of Molecular and Cellular Proteomics,
and, since 2008, has been coordinating the DECanBio program, a European
FP7 project dedicated to the set up of a biomarker discovery pipe-line
for cancer bladder using up-to-date mass spectrometry technologies. Jérôme
Garin is the co-founder and scientific adviser of Promise
Advanced Proteomics.
Claire UNTEREINER, Business Development Manager
Claire Untereiner passed a Master Degree in Biochemistry at the University
of Lyon, France, before completing her scientific training with a Master
Degree in Management of Technology and Innovation, at the EM Lyon Business
School.
After 3 years as project leader in clinical trials, and an experience as investor in seed/early stage funding company in the life science sector, she joined PX’Therapeutics in 2008 to manage the business development of the company in Europe. Claire Untereiner has an overall understanding of biotech and pharmaceutical market and therapeutic product development. She’s in charge of business development, marketing and communication activities within Promise Advanced Proteomics.
Dorothée LEBERT, R&D Project Manager
Dorothée is a biotechnology engineer, graduated from the Biotechnology Engineering
School of Bordeaux, France, and she has a 4-year experience in protein production
and analysis. As a first experience, she worked during 2 years in Dr B. Séraphin’s
laboratory at the Molecular Genetics Center near Paris where she experienced
protein production and purification for large-scale structural studies. In 2007,
she joined the “Exploring the Dynamics of Proteomes” laboratory at CEA Grenoble,
France, headed by Dr J. Garin and took part in the development of the PSAQ™ method.
Thanks to this experience, she has consolidated her know-how in protein production
and analytics, especially in in vitro protein expression and protein labeling.
She has also acquired skills in mass spectrometry-based protein quantification.
Within Promise Advanced Proteomics, she is in charge
of R&D developments, in particular optimization of PSAQ™ production process.
Virginie BRUN, Chief Scientific Officer
Virginie Brun completed her undergraduate studies in Veterinary Medicine
at the Lyon Veterinary School, France. She obtained a PhD in Physiology
and Molecular Biology at the Claude Bernard University of Lyon.
She then joined the “Exploring the Dynamics of Proteomes” laboratory,
headed by Jérôme Garin, in Grenoble, France, for a 4-year post-doctoral
training. During this period, she optimized and developed methodologies
for absolute quantitative proteomics. She also trained in business management
at EM Lyon.
Virginie Brun is the co-inventor of the patented PSAQ™ method and the co-founder of Promise Advanced Proteomics.

Alain Briand, Board Member
Alain Briand is in charge of the creation of start-ups for the CEA Grenoble
and the MINATEC Innovation campus.
After graduating in engineering from CNAM Paris, Alain Briand started
his career in physical chemistry at the CEA in Fontenay-aux-Roses. He
then directed the laboratory of laser spectroscopy of the CEA Saclay.
After many years in science and technology, he decided to widen his
scope to technology transfer and industrial innovation.
He joined the OSEO agency in 1995, specializing in innovation support
for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). In 1998, he moved to his current
position, leading the CEA Grenoble to become more and more active in
start-up creation.
Alain Briand is now a member of the executive boards of many structures supporting technology transfer and start-up creation, such as GRAVIT, GRAIN and PETALE. He is also the co-founder of the 4I Forum on innovation, which brings together every year, in Grenoble, more than 500 entrepreneurs, researchers, funders and policy makers.
Tristan ROUSSELLE, Corporate Development Manager
Tristan Rousselle is a Doctor in Cellular Biology who graduated from IBS (Institut de Biologie Structurale, Grenoble, France) in 1999 before joining Genome Express, a Grenoble-based biotechnology company in order to set up their cell biology activities. He subsequently co-founded PX’Therapeutics (formerly Protein’eXpert) late in 2000 with Nicolas Mouz, remaining their CEO to this day.
Tristan is also a member of the board of two organizations: Elicityl SA and the LyonBioPole (non profit). Scientifically, he has been involved in several collaborative R&D projects mainly in the field of infectious diseases and cancer, aiming at engineering, developing and producing at GMP grades, therapeutic proteins including antibodies.
